Terms of Service

1The service

Chemology is a free educational study aid for practising chemical symbols, valencies, atomic groups and formulas through flashcards, exams, a formula lab, a mini-game and a study timer. It is an independent project and is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, any government body or ministry of education.

2Eligibility and accounts

• You must be at least 13 years old to use the site. If you are under 18, you confirm that a parent or guardian knows about and permits your use.
• Give accurate information and choose a username that is not offensive, misleading or impersonating anyone. We may refuse, change or remove usernames that break this rule.
• You are responsible for your password and for everything done through your account. Keep your login private and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.
• Accounts are personal. Do not share or sell your account.

3Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• attack, overload, scan, reverse-engineer or try to gain unauthorised access to the site, its servers or other users' data;
• use bots, scripts or exploits to automate exams or games, falsify scores or otherwise cheat the system;
• copy, scrape, republish, sell or commercially exploit the site's content, questions, design or code without our written permission;
• upload or submit unlawful, harmful, abusive or infringing content (including through usernames);
• use the site in any way that breaks the law or harms others.

4Our content and intellectual property

The site's design, text, questions, layouts, code, sounds and branding belong to Chemology or its licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. We give you a limited, personal, non-commercial, non-transferable and revocable licence to use the site for your own studying. All rights not expressly granted are reserved. If you send us feedback or suggestions, you allow us to use them freely without any obligation to you.

5Your data

You keep ownership of your study data. You give us permission to host, process and display it as needed to run the service, and to use aggregated or anonymised statistics that do not identify you to improve the site. How we handle personal data is explained in the Privacy Policy.

6Third-party services

The site relies on third-party services such as Google Firebase and a hosting provider. Your use of Google sign-in is also subject to Google's terms. We are not responsible for third-party services, their availability or their actions.

7Educational use only

We work to keep the content accurate, but mistakes can happen and the curriculum can change. Chemology does not guarantee any particular grade or exam result. Always confirm important information with your textbook and teacher.

8Availability and changes

The site is provided on an "as available" basis. We may change, limit, suspend or discontinue any feature or the whole service, reset statistics, or delete inactive accounts at any time, with or without notice. Do not rely on the site as the only record of anything important to you.

9Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access, and delete your account, if you break these Terms, put the service or other users at risk, or if we are required to by law. You may stop using the site at any time and may ask us to delete your account by emailing thefalconytt@gmail.com.

10Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the site and everything on it are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted or error-free operation, and non-infringement.

11Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Chemology and its team will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, progress, profits or opportunities, arising from your use of or inability to use the site. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you for all claims is limited to the greatest extent the law allows. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

12Responsibility for your actions

To the extent permitted by law, you are responsible for any loss, claim or damage we suffer because you broke these Terms or the law while using the site.

13Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt. We encourage you to contact us first at thefalconytt@gmail.com so we can try to resolve any issue informally. Any dispute that cannot be resolved that way will be brought before the competent courts of Egypt, without affecting any mandatory consumer rights you have.

14General

• We may update these Terms from time to time; the "Last updated" date shows the current version, and continuing to use the site means you accept the changes.
• If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our not enforcing a right is not a waiver of it.
• These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the site.
• These Terms are provided in Arabic and English. If there is any difference between the two versions, the Arabic version prevails.
